Puddle Pump

Puddle Pump - Supply, Installation, Servicing

Alton Pump Services offer a range of puddle pumps. Our professional, reliable team supply, install service and repair puddle pumps in any environment.

Puddle pumps (or ‘sucker’ pumps) do not need to be fully submerged in water.  And due to low suction depths these pumps are used to pump very low levels of water without overheating. Consequently. this makes puddle pumps ideal for draining flooded cellars, sumps and clearing spillages.  Electric puddle pumps can be used both indoors and outdoors.

In addition to providing our services throughout Hampshire and Surrey, our team also cover London and the South Coast.  Contact us today for your puddle pump requirements.

Puddle Sucker Pumps

Sucker pumps can move clean and dirty water and are suited to narrow sumps and chambers, or can negate the requirement for a chamber or sump completely as they can be used above surface level.  Due to the lightweight portable nature of puddle sucker pumps, they are ideal for emergency flooding situations. This is because they can be transported and immediately commissioned to begin surface and shallow water pumping.  In addition, puddle suckers with auto sensors can be used for long-term, low-level water removal. The sensor automatically triggers the pump to start when a pre-determined water level is reached.

At Alton Pump Services, we take pride in our ability to offer whatever kind of puddle or industrial pump you may need for your specific application.  Call our team today on 01420 561661 to discuss your puddle pump requirements.

WHAT IS A PUDDLE PUMP?

A puddle pump is a special type of pump which is automatic or manually operated for low level water that does not need to be fully submersed in water.

What are the advantages of a puddle pump?

Puddle pumps can pump to very low levels of water (i.e a puddle) approx 1-3mm deep,  without the pump overheating or becoming damaged. This removes the need for a chamber to be dug, consequently, there is less disruption to your premises.

Puddle pumps are ideal for portable water removal from your site or property. Call us for advice on water drainage, pumping surface water as well as removing flood water, and extracting water from basements.

Can a puddle pump run dry?

As they are designed for operating in low water levels, puddle pumps can run dry for a few seconds without causing damage to the pump.

What is the difference between standard submersible pumps and puddle pumps?

Puddle pumps differ primarily from standard submersible pumps in that they can pump shallow bodies of water without overheating which subsequently can cause damage to the pump.

As a result of this feature, puddle pumps are commonly used as portable devices for stand alone operations such as basement drainage following a burst pipe or emptying tanks. In addition, most puddle pumps are manually operated.
