Built to the customers specification we were proud to deliver our most recent pumping station to our client last week. Pumping stations can be used for a variety of applications including; water supply, land drainage and sewage removal. A surface water pumping station takes the water from the ground (or roof); then transfers the surface water to a local drain system.
Surface water pumping stations are typically installed at properties that frequently suffer from flooding. Heavy rainfall, particularly after long dry spells, can result in excess surface water which can cannot drain away quickly enough. The impact on your drainage system can often result in rainwater backing up and over whelming the drains. A surface water pumping station can ease the pressure on your drainage system, protecting you from flood damage. The pump station is designed to automatically activate when necessary. As an area starts to flood the level of water inside the chamber starts to rise, which is detected by the float switch. This causes the pump station to activate and pump the water away from your property until the level of flood water decreases and the float switch lowers to its original position. A pumping station’s integrity is essential to ensure the safety of the local environment.
Some of our clients choose to add a high-water alarm to the station for added security. An alarm sounds if the level of water becomes dangerously high and will alert you to any potential issues. At Alton Pump Services we provide monitoring services for surface water pump stations to help maintain the mechanical integrity and performance of your pumps.
