We received a call out to a site that reported a water pump leak. On investigation, our engineers found that there was a leaking mechanical seal. If the seal was not replaced and continued to deteriorate the pump would eventually lose pressure and fail. Unfortunately, this particular pump had been superseded by a newer version so replacement parts were no longer available and we had to advise the customer that they required a new pump installation as the corded seal would lead to full pump failure.
It is important to ensure your pump system is serviced on a regular basis – our pump engineers are skilled at spotting any issues that may arise to avoid unnecessary damage. With regular maintenance, you can help ensure your pump runs more efficiently and cost-effectively to reduce the risk of breakdown. Well-maintained pumps can even reduce your energy consumption by up to 50%.
